Fleeing Mosul for Safety

Mosul Emergency Response
An estimated 11,000 Christians have fled the northern Iraq city of Mosul this October. For fear of violence, many left without grabbing any belongings. Most resettled in Tel Kef and Hamdaniya Districts, where International Medical Corps’ (IMC) emergency response reached 100 percent of the registered displaced. Responding within in 24 hours of the crisis’ onset, International Medical Corps worked with OFDA, UNHCR, and local leaders to bring much-needed food and non-food items to the displaced. In total, IMC’s emergency response distributed 142 tons of emergency supplies to more than 2,000 families, or 8,000 displaced persons, in just two weeks.
